Austin’s a great place to ride a bike, and this year, the Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc. and Austin Cycling Association are partnering for the Bicycle Tour de Funky Chickens, a free ACA-hosted bike ride to some of the coops on this year's Funky Chicken Coop Tour. The bicycle tour begins at Sunshine Community Gardens, and includes stops at several coops, depending on route. See this year's coop descriptions page for a preview.

A team of ride leaders from Austin Cycling Association will guide riding groups based on experience. Cyclists must register on site at Sunshine Community Gardens on tour day if not already pre-registered. ACA membership is not required.

The Urban Poultry Association of Texas, Inc. and Austin Cycling Association require cyclists participating on Bicycle Tour de Funky Chickens to wear helmets, and strongly recommend cyclists to use front and rear lights, and wear visible colors for safety.

Don't forget to bring a lock for your bike and a spare tube. Participants must obey traffic signals/road signs, yield the right of way, let cars pass, and not block intersections. Listen to ride leaders; they are good people who have your best interest at heart.

For those who prefer a self-paced bicycle ride, tour maps are your ticket to the tour and can be shared with other people in your party. Take part in the guided bike tour or create your own route. Bring your bike and help us make this year's Funky Chicken Coop Tour the best ever!
