If you are raising chickens in Austin, we want YOU and your flock to help us with an upcoming study to show how our zero waste heroes contribute to diverting “waste” out of landfills and building rich soil.
Maybe you thought chickens were good for eggs, plus pretty and fun to watch, but they can do so much more! Chickens help process food scraps, grass clippings and leaves, reducing the amount of waste going into landfills; instead, chickens return the waste to the soil, where it can do the most good. All that biomass never needs to leave the yard. Our feathered friends serve as bio-recyclers and waste-reducers and they help us cope with drought and reduce water consumption, all while giving us healthy, delicious eggs!
