A coop tour? Can I have chickens in Austin?
Yes, City of Austin’s Ordinances allow chickens in the city. Currently this includes hens and roosters. The full regulations are listed under Animal Regulations in Title 3 of the Austin Ordinances. Keep in mind you should also check on any other local/property restrictions, if any exist.
What kinds of coops will be on the tour? Does a coop have to be “funky” to be on the tour?
The coop doesn’t have to be “funky” to be on the tour. We’re aiming for a wide range of all kinds of coops. We want to show diversity… be it the inexpensive shanty’s to the elaborate palace’s. The more variety the better!
All coops will be within the Austin City Limits or Austin ETJ.
